How it works
The simplest way to sell mineral rights is to see more than one offer. We connect mineral and royalty owners with buyers who are active in their county. You compare offers and choose. We never buy your mineral rights and never charge you.
You send a short request
Your state, county and what you own. A royalty statement, acreage or legal description helps but isn't required.
We match you with buyers
We pass your request to up to 3 buyers who purchase minerals in your area. If none covers it, we tell you instead of sharing your details.
Buyers review and offer
Each buyer checks public well, production and title records and contacts you with an offer, often by phone or email.
You choose and close
Compare price, terms and closing time. Sell, sell part, or keep. You sign and close directly with the buyer you pick.
How this compares with other ways to sell mineral rights
Most mineral owners sell mineral rights one of three ways. The route decides how many offers you see, who pays the fees, and how fast it closes.
| What matters | GoSellMineralRights | Answering one offer letter | Broker, listing site or auction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Offers you can compare | Up to 3 cash offers from mineral buyers active in your county, side by side | One. The letter is the whole market as far as you can see | Bids after a listing period, if the interest draws them |
| What you pay | Nothing. Buyers pay us for the introduction, and it never comes out of your price | Nothing | A commission or listing fee, usually a percentage of the sale |
| Time to a decision | We send your request within one business day; buyers reply with offers after checking records | Fast, often with a deadline on the letter | Weeks to months: listing, marketing, then bids |
| Who you deal with | The buyer you choose, directly. We're not a mineral buyer | That one buyer | The broker or platform, under a listing agreement |
| Obligation | None. Sell all, sell part, or keep everything | None, though the deadline adds pressure | Often an exclusive listing term |
Whichever route you take, compare offers on the same basis: what exactly is bought, the price per net mineral acre or months of income, who pays closing costs, and when you're paid.
How we're paid
Mineral rights buyers pay us a fee for introductions. You pay nothing, whether you sell mineral rights through us or not, and the fee doesn't come out of your sale price. About us explains how we choose the buyers we work with and how we check every page.
What we don't do
We don't buy mineral rights, give legal or tax advice, or negotiate on your behalf. For questions about your title, lease or taxes, talk to an oil and gas attorney or a tax professional, and read our guides to how a mineral rights sale is taxed and whether to sell, lease or wait.
