Stop paying to reach owners who never asked to sell
Most companies that buy mineral rights still start with a letter. You pull owner names from county records, skip-trace the addresses, print and mail, then wait. Many owners never answer, and the ones who do have often had the same kind of letter from other buyers that month.
Every step costs money and weeks before you speak to a single seller. Owner requests flip the order: the owner raises a hand first, and you start at the conversation.
How it works: from an owner's request to your written offer in 4 steps
You tell us where you buy
Today, in four fields
States, counties or basins, and the interests you want: producing minerals, royalties, NPRIs, ORRIs or non-producing acreage. You fill it in once.
An owner in your county asks for offers
When they are ready to sell
They find us when they search to sell mineral rights, tell us where the minerals are and what they own, and agree to hear from buyers.
The request reaches you
Usually within one business day
By email, with the owner's details and what they own, shared with no more than 2 other buyers.
You make a written offer and close direct
On your timeline
Check title, production and lease terms as you always do. The owner compares offers and chooses; the deed and payment are between you and the owner.
What lands in your inbox: the request, ready to price
Each request carries what the owner told us on the form, so you can decide in minutes whether to pull records:
- The state and county (or parish) where the minerals are.
- What they hold: mineral rights, a royalty interest, an overriding royalty, or not sure.
- Whether they receive royalty checks now and, if they chose to share it, their average monthly royalty and net mineral acres.
- Notes in their own words, such as how they inherited the minerals or the operator's name.
- The page they came from, so you know whether they read about value, taxes or inheritance first.

Why an owner's request is worth more than a cold letter
They raised their hand
The owner started the conversation and agreed to hear from buyers. You are answering a request, not interrupting someone.
You are one of 3 at most
Not one of every company mailing offers to buy mineral rights. The owner compares a short set of written offers and decides.
Matched to your counties
You only receive requests in the counties, basins and interest types you buy, so you don't sort through owners you would never price.
They come prepared
Our guides explain value, taxes and how a sale closes in plain terms, so owners can arrive knowing what a fair, written offer looks like.
Faster, and less work per deal, than mail or lead lists
The difference is where the work sits. With mail and lists you pay to find a willing mineral rights owner; with requests the owner finds you.
| What matters | Owner requests from us | Mail campaign | Bought lead list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Did the owner ask to sell? | Yes, and agreed to be contacted | No | No |
| Time to the first conversation | Usually within one business day of the owner asking | Weeks to print, mail and wait for replies | Days of skip tracing and calling |
| Your work before that conversation | Read the request and reply | Pull names, skip-trace, print and mail | Buy the list, dial, leave messages |
| Other buyers on the same owner | 2 at most | Anyone mailing that county | Anyone who bought the same list |
| What you pay for | Each introduction | Every letter, answered or not | Every record, good or bad |
Pay per introduction, quoted for your state
You pay per introduction, at a price quoted for your state and the type of interest before your first request. Owners are never charged, and every sale closes directly between you and the owner.
Request volume differs a lot by county. Tell us where you buy and we'll tell you what we're seeing there before you commit to anything.
Where owners can ask for offers
Mineral rights owners in 28 states can request offers. If you buy in particular plays, each basin page shows the counties it covers:
The standards that keep owners answering
Owners come to us because they want more than one fair, written offer and no pressure. To keep it that way, buyers in the network agree to:
- Make offers in writing, with exactly what is being bought: depths, tracts and the interest.
- Never charge the owner a fee to process a sale or verify title.
- Give honest closing timelines and pay at or before recording, or through a neutral escrow.
- Respect an owner's decision to keep their minerals, and stop contacting anyone who asks.
These are the same red flags we teach owners to watch for in our guide to mineral rights buyers and brokers, and about us explains how we choose the buyers we work with.
How to purchase mineral rights: the checks every buyer runs
Whether you buy mineral rights at scale or are making your first purchase, the due diligence is the same, and owners can read every step on this site:
- Title. Trace the chain of title in the county records, by runsheet or title opinion. See how ownership is traced and how mineral rights are transferred.
- Interest and decimal. Confirm net mineral acres, the lease royalty and the decimal on the owner's check stub. The royalty calculator and the guide to net mineral and net royalty acres show the arithmetic.
- Production and permits. Pull well, production and permit data from the state regulator; each state page names it.
- Value. Producing minerals are usually priced as months of net royalty income; non-producing minerals per net mineral acre. The value calculator shows the owner-side view.
- Closing. A mineral deed or assignment, notarized and recorded, with payment by wire, draft or escrow. See how a sale closes.
This is a general description of a purchase, not investment, legal or tax advice.
Buyer questions
Do you sell mineral rights directly?
No. GoSellMineralRights doesn't own or sell minerals. We pass owners' requests for offers to buyers active in their county. You buy mineral rights from the owner, on your own terms, and close directly with them.
How quickly do requests reach me?
Owners are told their request goes to buyers usually within one business day, so that is when it reaches you: by email, with everything the owner gave us.
Is each request exclusive?
No. Each owner's request goes to up to 3 buyers, so the owner can compare written offers. That's what owners are promised on the site, and it's why they ask.
Can I choose counties and interest types?
Yes. Tell us the states, counties or basins you buy and the interests you want, and you only receive requests that match. You can change them at any time by replying to us.
Where do the requests come from?
From mineral and royalty owners who find this site through search and fill in the request form, which asks where their minerals are, what they own and whether they receive royalties. They agree to be contacted by up to 3 buyers.
Can I buy mineral rights in any state through you?
You can receive requests from mineral rights owners in the 28 states the site covers. Tell us the states and counties where you buy mineral rights and you only receive requests there.
What does it cost?
Buyers pay per introduction. Pricing depends on the state and the type of interest, and we quote it before your first request. Owners are never charged.
Tell us your counties. We'll tell you what owners there are asking for.
Send the form and we reply by email with how requests from mineral rights owners work in the counties you buy and what they cost. There is no cost to ask and nothing to sign to find out.
P.S. Every owner request in a county goes to 3 buyers at most. If you buy there and you're not one of them, the owner compares offers without yours. It takes four fields to find out what we're seeing where you buy.
